Very interesting to visit the Textile Industry Museum in Augsburg. Augsburg was the center for the textile industry in Germany from the 12th century to the 16th century. The city was renown for its expertise in textile printing methods like wooden block printing, printing from flat copperplate engravings over to hand engraved steel cylinders. The exhibition shows the stunning pattern book collection of the Neuen Augsburger Kattunfabrik (NAK), weaving and printing machines and examples of iconic fashion pieces through the centuries.
